The Tennessee Chapter of the 99s hosted our 2022 Fall SE Section Meeting. It was a gorgeous weekend both weatherwise and hosting. We had a walking tour of the Tennessee Theater which was redone in its original décor of 1928. The chapter greeted us around 4 pm with a lovely welcome reception at the hotel patio where we busily chatted till our tour of the Cirrus Delivery Factory. The tour was located just off McGhee Tyson Airport. We were allowed to try the flight simulators and viewed the amazing Cirrus jet. That night, several of us gathered at the Maple Hall Bowling Alley, a quaint ole-town alley with a wonderful selection of food, beverage, and fun bowling.

Bright and early Saturday morning, our SE Section Business Meeting took place led by Governor Janice Pelletti. International Director Janet Patton covered what our International Board has been working on and upcoming events. The Ninety-Nine of Note was awarded to Ramona Banks for all her many accomplishments this year for the 99s.

After the meeting, lunch was held at the Knoxville Downtown Airport. The Tennessee Chapter invited many of their illustrious aviators to be our guests and share a brief word of their careers. Some guests were part of our SE Section and some were local male pilots sharing their stores. It was a great way of meeting and greeting wonderful people. We moved to another area of the airport to meet the 24/7 helicopter rescue operation. Two pilots told of their adventures rescuing those in distress. They talked briefly about mountainous terrain which must be respected, many are left stranded when they don’t calculate sunset correctly and so this is a valuable part of the Knoxville community.

That evening, we had another meet and greet at the Embassy Suites which had a marvelous view of the city. It was a wonderful evening full of camaraderie and stories.

Thanks to the Tennessee Chapter for a wonderful time.
