Eleanore Reichenbach, 93, passed away peacefully in her home on February 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 30, 1931, Eleanore lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family. Eleanore’s family was the cornerstone of her life, and she took great joy in being surrounded by them. A woman of many talents and interests, Eleanore worked as an AT&T phone operator, modeled, and had the honor of working at the 1964-1965 World’s Fair. She was a passionate aviator who piloted her plane and even participated in air racing. Eleanore was a proud member of The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, where she connected with other pioneering women in aviation.
Beyond her career, Eleanore enjoyed gardening, crocheting blankets for her loved ones, and practicing macramé. Her caring and creative touch were felt in all that she did. She had a deep love for orchids and plants, surrounding herself with beauty wherever she went. Her favorite colors-blue, purple, and pink reflected her vibrant spirit, and these colors could be seen in many areas of her home and life. She had a deep love for Christmas, with the lighting and decorating of her tree each year and sharing the beauty of it with all who came to visit. She was also passionate about sharing her beliefs and knowledge of natural medicine, always eager to offer advice and insight to those who sought her wisdom.
Above all, Eleanore’s love for life, family, friends, and flying was truly remarkable. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, kind heart, and the countless memories she created with the ones lucky enough to know her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who loved her.
