Being a newcomer to the 99s, my anticipation for my first section meeting was uncertain. But, to my surprise, I was deeply impressed by the community and the remarkable group of women present. Meeting new faces, listening to the stories of brave women, and building new connections were experiences that truly humbled me. The 99s is an incredible organization for female aviators, fostering a supportive community and network. The stories and camaraderie shared in those meetings can be truly inspiring and uplifting. Having only attended one section meeting, I’m already eagerly looking forward to the upcoming ones.

The local chapter in Huntsville did a phenomenal job providing interesting tours, great guest speakers, and fun places to visit. It was a real treat to meet so many ladies from different chapters and be entertained by their experiences and knowledge of the 99s’ story. I highly recommend that everyone attend as many section meetings as possible. It was a great learning experience and a lot of fun!
The Alabama Chapter hosted the SE Section members visiting North Alabama for the 2023 Fall SE Section Meeting, where we were Fiddling with Space. The weekend included a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Rocket Facility tour, an evening at the 56th Annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention, two exceptional speakers, and an optional tour on Sunday of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
