Ruth Fleisher
Florida Goldcoast Chapter
Ruth Fleisher, a Ninety-Nine since 1942 and a Life member, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, in her home in Homestead, FL. Ruth was born in Rochester, NY. She was 94 and had a sparkling, fun-loving personality. Before Ruth was grounded by Alzheimer’s Disease she was an active member of the Florida Goldcoast Chapter and Southeast Section. Ruth served as a Women’s Airforce Service Pilot (WASP) during World War II and afterward in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. She was one of the first women to work as an air traffic controller. She was also a flight instructor.
