Barbara Harris Para

Barbara Harris Para passed away on June 2, 2015, after an airplane accident in her Beechcraft A–36 Bonanza. The accident occurred when Barbara and her husband Fred, serving as the pilot of the flight, were flying to Silver City, NC for routine maintenance. Barbara was only 69 when she died. Barbara joined the Ninety-Nines in 1990 and served the organization in various positions, including Section Governor. She will be remembered for her love of flying, her civic-minded dedication to her community, her leadership, and her commitment to mentoring others. Her loss will leave a void in our hearts and in our organization. Her beloved 49 1/2, Fred, survived the accident.
