SE Section "New Horizons" Scholarship
The Southeast Section Ninety-Nines
is pleased to offer the New Horizons Scholarship for any level of flight certificate or rating in the amount of $2500.

- Applications will be accepted from pilots or student pilots (with solo endorsement) who are Southeast Section Ninety-Nines
requires information about applicant's aviation background, aviation goals, and specific plans for the use of the scholarship.
- Applicant has to be a member of The Ninety-Nines,
Inc® for one year prior to submitting application for the New Horizons Scholarship.
- Winner will be notified within eight (8)
weeks of the submission deadline of April 2.
- Award money will be paid to a flight school or flight instructor.
- Winner must use the scholarship funds within 14 months
of the official scholarship notification.
- Continuation of funding is dependent on active membership with The Ninety-Nines, Inc®.

Blackwell-Walker Scholarship Application
Wings Over Paradise Scholarship Awarded to Virginie
Paradise Coast Chapter 99s is proud to announce
that the 2016 Wings Over Paradise scholarship has been awarded to Ms. Virginie Rollin of Deland, Florida. Virginie earned her private pilot license in New Mexico,
and will be working on her instrument rating in Florida.
Since 2011 the Wings Over Paradise scholarship has been awarded annually to assist a female pilot who
is a Florida resident in paying for any phase of flight training (private pilot through ATP including instructor ratings). Thanks
again to all the dedicated members of the Paradise Coast Chapter who continue to raise money for our scholarship fund.

Vicki Cruse Scholarship
Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship
Each year, in June, the Spaceport Chapter of the 99s awards the Mary
Blackwell - Anne Walker Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $1500.
To be eligible an applicant must
be: 1) a female, 2) at least 18 years old, 3) at least a Private Pilot, 4) living in, or be a permanent resident of The 99s
South East Section,
5) of financial need and 6)
must have a desire to make aviation your career. (The 99s Southeast Section includes FL, GA, NC, SC, AL, MS, LA & TN.)
Applications are mailed to the Chairman of each 99s Chapter in the SE Section, to the Scholarship office of colleges
and universities with aviation programs in the
Section, and to anyone who requests a copy. This mailing is done in early March. Completed applications must be postmarked between March 1 and May 1st.
A panel of 3 judges evaluates all applications and determines the winner. All applicants are notified of the judges
Our chapter has been giving a scholarship each year since 1978 and have given more than $25,000 to help
women advance their Aviation Training.
recent winner: Hannah Northern
|Hannah is a student at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona
Beach. She has earned her Commercial and Instrument tickets and |
is work on her CFI/CFII. Hannah will use our scholarship
to work on her multi-engine rating. Hannah is a member of the ERAU flight team which participates
in the National Intercollegiate
Flying Association (NIFA) competition.; the team placed 2nd this year. She is a member of the 99s and flew in the
Women's Air Race Classic as co-pilot. She and her pilot placed 10th overall and 3rd in the collegiate category. This year
she was selected to be
pilot in command of the ERAU plane in the Air Race Classic.
Hannah will be graduating
from ERAU in the fall of 2010 with a degree in Aeronautical Science. At that time she will start instructing in California,
near her home in Forestville. She hopes to one day be a pilot with Solairus Aviation, a corporate aviation company.
Update on Hannah: Hannah passed her checkride for the multi engine on December 6th. She finished
all her flight courses and has graduated
from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. After finishing her finals she got
in her car and headed home to California. We wish you all the best, Hannah.
